Jackerooed in Western Queensland and worked on properties in Queensland. Also managed properties in New South Wales.
Prepared many cattle show teams for clients as well as our own cattle over a period of 20 years.

Judged cattle at shows all over Australia as well as the Sydney Royal Show.
Past District Governor of Apex Australia.
Thoroughbred Industry involvement for 15 years.
Have raced our own horses for past 5 years.
Conduct tours to Studs for 15 years.
Managing Director of Chocolate Hills Wine Company—10 years.

Ian McDuie - Director

Resume:
Family background in horses, including Bangaroo Stud at Luddenham.
1963-1966 Faculty of Rural Science at University of New England, Armidale.
1967-1968 - Livestock Trainee with Dalgety and Co. Sydney.
1968-1970 - Exchange trainee in England with Russell, Baldwin & Bright, largest leisure horse and National Hunt marketers in Britain, horse and cattle exporters.
1970-1979 - On returning to Australia I joined Madison Advertising in Sydney as an Account Executive, specialising in animal health products and was involved with the launch and promotion of many veterinary and horse related brands. Eventually Manager of Agribusiness Division with a staff of 18. Clients included Sunrice Feeds, Ethnor Limited, Merck Sharpe & Dohme, Yates Seeds, Sun Alliance Insurance and various small clients in the stud and supply fields.
1979-1984 - Managed for my family Kanangra Park Stud at Scone, undertaking a development program for horse facilities and eventually subdividing and selling it. Also during that time I was bloodstock correspondent and horse features promotion editor for The Land Newspaper. I instigated sires of season and bloodstock news page. In 1984 I established new secretariat for Hunter Valley Bloodhorse Breeders with president, Brian Agnew, and developed guidelines for new format and promotion to trainers of yearling sale.
1984-1986 - Australian Stock Horse Society - Managing Editor/Public Relations Manager. In 3 years revitalised members magazine (quadrupled size) and reversed sliding membership trend by boosting member services and communications.
1987 - News Limited. Developed marketing plan and retained for the re-launch of Hoofs and Horns magazine.
1989-1992 - Equine Press (Thomson Media). Retained as consultant on development of marketing plans for Australian Horse News and Sires Guide.
Since 1987 have been proprietor of RuralCom Marketing Associates, a marketing and promotion consultancy, specialising in agribusiness and livestock which has had slients such as: Plusvital (Ireland) Limited in the re-organisation of distribution and marketing of their horse nutrition products, Rural Property Trust, Elders Ltd, Andrew Gibbons Realty, ICM, Rural Press, Farmgate Press, Australian Stock Horse Society, Australian Poll Hereford Society, Domain Corporation, Meat & Livestock Australia, Angus Society of Australia, Hunter Ranch Products and numerous small business and farm clients.
I have also acted as a consultant in researching pedigrees, matings and nominations, the acquisition of yearlings and broodmares and advising on nutrition and development of thoroughbred spelling properties.
In 2000 negotiated the purchase of Turf Monthly Magazine and transfer of administrative offices to Scone and acted as Managing Editor for 12 months until 2002.
After selling my interest in the magazine to develop projects in internet and electronic marketing, which included various projects for Equine United, of which I am a shareholder, and web page development for clients such as Kia-Ora Stud and Riverstea Farm.
In 2005 re-established Ruralcom Marketing to concentrate on advisory work.
I have judged horse events at every Royal Show in Australia and New Zealand and have been a Director of the NSW Polo Association for 15 years. I am a qualified auctioneer and have been an active horse breeder all my life.
